(#kcinterview) Amil Antonio

Amil Antonio is a young man that doesn't categorise himself into the traditional stereotype that he may be initially perceived as. Working on making a name for himself his audience is forever surprised at what he brings to the table as the challenges just push him to better himself.
Who is Amil Antonio?
Amil Antonio is me, its the better part as well as the worst. See, from near the ending of school people would refer to me as Ace, on the roads and on the blocks, and as I started college it adapted to "Ace Milly". To be honest I don't know why but it sounded catchy, so didn't really mind but in any case I knew that I couldn't take music seriously with that name plus I wanted something that meant more so I changed it. Now, 'Antonio' is simply my mothers maiden name and 'Amil' is a shortened version of 'Ace Milly'...'A - M - I - L'. People ask me why my mums last name and the answer is as simple as she is the one responsible for my up bringing so my mum is the first and only women I love. All in all 'Amil Antonio' is me, its how I see myself on common grounds, what I think reflects who I honestly am and gives me the chance to share that with people, through music, and for them to understand my thoughts.

(#kcupdate) New releases on the Underground!

Doing my research and thinking about what I haven't blogged about in agessss Underground shoes flagged up in my head. July last year was the last time I blogged about Underground shoes, it's ages ago I know but now here's a new one.

Underground London Flagship Store

Take a look at the recent collaboration with B store ...

"B Store is now a global brand, with 90% of its sales coming from outside the UK. The web has become our major source of growth, and together - wholesale and web – are by far the fastest growing areas for the brand. We felt we no longer needed physical retail presence in London and will be directing our resources to a stronger online presence, which we're planning to overhaul later this year" - bstorelondon.com

(#kcFMPdiary) 'A Futuristic Holiday' Research Week 1

It's the first proper week of me doing my FMP and I've finally decided on what I'm going to focus on for the final unit. My theme is 'A Futuristic Holiday'. I came to this conclusion by thinking of a long list of themes and by the process of elimination I came up with this combination. The whole point of me combining these themes was to challenge myself and to think very 'out of the box' for my collection.

This week my intention was to complete my moodboards and research a couple designers for my contextual research. I also wanted to watch a few films to look at their costumes and props to inspire me. I managed to get my two moodboards done, one for 'futuristic' and one for 'holidays', and one designer covered which was Junya Watanabe.

I focused mainly on Watanabe's S/S 2013 collection because of it's futuristic look, bold colours and shapes.

The pieces I looked at from the collection:

(#kcupdate) Nanette Lepore

'Known for her bold colors, evocative prints and signature silhouettes, Nanette Lepore has become one of the leading names in contemporary American fashion. Inspired by her artsy bohemian childhood and passion for a good party, Nanette’s designs are adored by style makers and celebrities alike, including Michelle Obama, Nicki Minaj, Scarlett Johansson, Taylor Swift, Abigail Breslin, Blake Lively, Arianna Huffington, Carly Rae Jepsen and Kristin Chenoweth.' - nanettelepore.com

I love hearing about people that come from nothing and use a small amount of money to start up what they love. Reading up about this company I saw that Nanette went to New York City with her talent, tenacity and a $5,000 loan from her father to launch her own label.
