(#kcwardrobe) Pre Take Off!

I packed for my holiday just over two weeks ago now and I whilst I was away I was trying to find the time to sit down and blog but as you see I never got round to it. Now I'm back and I have some time on my hands after unpacking I thought that I should show you one of the best practical buys before I went away. I love my suitcase and I want to go on holiday over and over again, it makes me feel like a traveller because of the departure board design.

I have never known myself to pack light so I definitely know that this suitcase can hold over 20kg depending on what you pack in it I guess. I think I was able to pack over three weeks worth of clothes and I was only out of the country for 12 days, bad I know, but you never know I may have had to change more than once a day depending on where I was going.

Now I'm back it's back to business as usual.

Good bye holiday ... Hello reality!!

Oh yeah the picture to the left is one of many holiday pics I took whilst I was away.

Searching around for items to pack in my suitcase bikini's have definitely been my number one search. I have already bought four but I am always looking for any new finds that can top what I already have. I also had a look at a few one pieces just to make sure I covered all bases of places I may end up going to, like water parks.

The Top 5 bikini's I'm looking at right now:

All the details for the items in the picture are below.

(#kcwishlist) A Cath Kidston Holiday

<<< Spot Small Wheeled Suitcase
£110

I have just under a month before I go away and I don't even think I have a suitable suitcase to take away with me. I really wanted something that could stand out from the crowd because it would be so easy to spot when waiting for my luggage at arrivals. Looking at the Cath Kidston range in the shops and online made me think why not! What have I got to lose by buying this suitcase. The reviews were so positive it must mean that this suitcase is perfect for my holiday, if only they had the dimensions on the website.

As well as this suitcase I was looking at the Bloomsbury floral print one. I really want to come out of my comfort zone and go for it, but I really don't know. Should I?

(#kcFMPdiary) 'A Futuristic Holiday' Research Week 1

It's the first proper week of me doing my FMP and I've finally decided on what I'm going to focus on for the final unit. My theme is 'A Futuristic Holiday'. I came to this conclusion by thinking of a long list of themes and by the process of elimination I came up with this combination. The whole point of me combining these themes was to challenge myself and to think very 'out of the box' for my collection.

This week my intention was to complete my moodboards and research a couple designers for my contextual research. I also wanted to watch a few films to look at their costumes and props to inspire me. I managed to get my two moodboards done, one for 'futuristic' and one for 'holidays', and one designer covered which was Junya Watanabe.

I focused mainly on Watanabe's S/S 2013 collection because of it's futuristic look, bold colours and shapes.

The pieces I looked at from the collection:
